Saturday September 8, 2007 a)9.30 am: A coach will leave the Marriott Hotel Gezira car park. b) Mr. Jaroslaw Dobrowlski: He is a conservation architect who, after working on many different archaeological and conservation sites in Egypt and the Sudan, has since 1996 been a technical director of the American Research Center in Egypt’s conservation program. He is the author of “the living stones of Cairo”, published by AUC Press, 2001. He will guide us to: 1) The mosque of Sultan Farag Ibn Barkouk. 2) Mosque of Sultan Al Ashraf Barsbay. 3) Mosque of Sultan Kait bay and the adjoining complex of buildings. c)Mrs. Agnieszka Dobrowlska: She is a conservation architect who directed a number of architectural conservation projects in Egypt and worked on archaeological and conservation sites in the country. She has also been designing museum displays and exhibitions in Egypt, the Gulf and Spain. She is the author of “The building crafts of Cairo a living tradition”, published by AUC Press, 2005. She has almost completed the first phase of the restoration project of the Khedive Tewfik Mausoleum better known as “Qubbet Effendina” which includes the tomb of Prince Mohamed Ali Tewfik. She will describe the work which has been undertaken and take us on a tour of the building. d) Refreshments will be served in the garden. e)The coach will take us back to the Marriott where it should arrive at approximately 2 pm. السبت 8 سبتمبر 2007 أ) الساعة 9.30 صباحاً: سيترك أوتوبيس موقف سيارات الجيزة لفندق الماريوت. ب) السيد/ جاراسلاف دابروليسكى: هو خبير في تاريخ الهندسة المعمارية. بعد عمله فى مختلف مواقع حفظ الآثار فى مصر والسودان عمل منذ عام 1996 كمدير فنى فى مركز البحوث الأمريكى فى برنامج حفظ الآثار فى مصر. وهو مؤلف كتاب "الحجارة الحية فى مصر" الذى قامت بنشره دار نشر الجامعة الأمريكية بمصر فى عام 2001. وسيأخذنا في جولة الى: 1) مسجد السلطان فرج ابن برقوق. 2) مسجد السلطان الأشرف بارزباى 3) مسجد السلطان قايتباى والأبنية المحيطة به. ج) المهندسة/أجنيسكا دبرولسكا: هى مهندسة معمارية أدارت العديد من المشاريع للمحافظة على المعمار فى مصر كما عملت فى مواقع حفظ الآثار فى مصر. كما قامت بتصميم معارض المتاحف فى مصر والخليج وأسبانيا. وقامت بتأليف كتاب " حرف البناء فى مصر عادات حية" الذى قامت بنشره دار نشر الجامعة الأمريكية بمصر فى عام 2005. انها فى آخر مرحلة للجزء الأول من مشروع ترميم ضريح الخديوى توفيق المسمى بإسم "قبة أفندينا"، التى تضم مقبرة الأمير/محمد على توفيق. وستقوم بشرح الأعمال القائمة فى جولة بمبنى الضريح. د) ستقدم مشروبات ومأكولات خفيفة فى الحديقة. هـ) سيعود الأوتوبيس الى فندق الماريوت ليصل حوالى الساعة الثانية بعد الظهر. الجولة مفتوحة للجميع. التبرعات المقترحة: للأعضاء: 75 جم لغير الأعضاء: 95 جم
